Main Characters: Maron Kusakabe, Miyako Toudaiji, Fin-fish Jun-tenshi, Chiaki Nagoya, Access Kuro-tenshi
Of course, there is also: Kami-sama (the good guy), Maou (the bad guy)

Maron is the magical girl reincarnation of Jeanne D'Arc (Joan of Arc) who is tasked with the removal of demons concealed within art objects. Why is there a problem with dark arts? Well, Kami-sama receives strength when humans behold and feel the beauty of an art object. Maou therefore weakens Kami-sama by placing demons in art objects to inflame negative feelings or to take over their minds and turn them to evil. To be polite, Kaitou Jeanne usually issues an arrival notice before she visits.

Unfortunately, the removal of the demon often ends up with destruction of the art object. The police, not knowing better, see that the original object is missing and blames Jeanne for being the kaitou. Maron's best friend, Miyako, is also the daughter of the chief detective assigned to solving the case of Kaitou Jeanne. Miyako's obsessiveness with solving the case adds complexity to Maron's secret life.

In general, this is a happy story interspersed with life's lessons, drama, melodrama, trust, betrayal, plot twists, and not a few happy moments that an adolescent girl may have in her life. The author's writing style in KKJ is to have drama without grittiness, so if you enjoy those types of fun reads, then this manga is for you. The author's technical style in KKJ includes a lot of fine detail along with generous use of screen tone (aka zip-a-tone) shading and textures.

There was also an anime-hit series in Japan called the same name as the manga series and it was shown from 1999 to 2000,from tv-Asahi.
